Choreographic Statement:
I believe that the creative process provides a space in which I explore my own lived history and international experiences; it is my muscle, my bone, and my blood. Life experiences are the matter for choreographers.
We cannot avoid the pressure of society, public opinion, and other aspects of social influence, and my work concerns itself with societal values, possibilities, and limitations. In dance making, we construct our own ideal life. We can express our emotions; we can look for infinite possibilities and it is in this dimension we grapple with what curates our decisions.
As a choreographer, I am committed to visualizing my emotional life experience through dance. I emphasis observation, reflection, creation, question, restriction, adjustment, music, and the power of suggestion.
